From First Glance the appearance of a home can be deceiving. Some properties appear small that what they are not only the exterior but inside as well. Other properties might appear worn and over grown. Take time and work on curb appeal and making your property much more marketable.

Let's face it one of the best ways to gauge this is to pull up in your own driveway and put yourself in a home buyers shoes.  What do they see and how does the appearance make them feel.  Take a look around and ask yourself a simple question, would you in the present condition of the home buy your own home?  If you would like to take it a step farther and are serious about selling your home.  We suggest taking notes and find the flaws in the home you have control over. Whether its minor home repairs or touch up some flaking paint.

  • Color choices - home buyers appreciate neutral colors both on the interior and exterior of homes.  Neutral colors give a home a larger appearance while dark colors make a room look very small.
  • Let's Talk Landscaping - There is nothing more attractive than a fresh cut green lawn and a very nicely manicured lawn.  Many home sellers pay so much attention the front lawn they forget there are sides and a back yard to include when it comes to landscaping and exterior beauty.  Do not neglect your side yards and back yard.  Remember often times a backyard is important for homeowners and a very safe place for pets, children and friends and family to  enjoy some outdoor activities. 
  • Open Up The Windows and Let The Sun Shine In - When potential home buyers view homes for sale the appearance of a home can be brighter and appear larger by just opening up your blinds and curtains and let the sun shine in.  A piece of advise, make sure your windows and screens are clean too!
  • Dump the Junk - De clutter, you really want home buyers in your house looking at the property vs. all the stuff you have.  De cluttering will give the property more space and appear clean.  Remember its a home buyers market and home buyers are pickier than ever before.
